Mental Health Block Grant

The Community Mental Health Services Block Grant (MHBG) program (through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration [SAMHSA]) makes funds available to all states and territories to provide community mental health services to adults diagnosed with a serious mental illness and children diagnosed with a serious emotional disturbance.

The North Dakota Department of Human Services’ Behavioral Health Division utilizes the funds to plan, implement, and evaluate activities supporting the full continuum of care relating to mental health.
